Alli Valentine

Alli has always had a passion for serving others, which was influenced by her grandmother and mother. In middle school and high school, Alli was found serving at a local soup kitchen or developing a prom dress drive for a local non-profit organization.

Her growing activism continued while pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Southern New Hampshire University [2015] through her vast experiences in the Hospitality program. Alli’s first experience in the social sector was as an event intern at FoodShare, Inc. in Connecticut. Throughout the remainder of her college years, Alli’s participation in local volunteer and campus awareness events prompted her to begin asking questions about the root causes of social inequalities. Specifically, on an Alternative Break trip to a community in rural Dominican Republic, Alli realized the power of education, both as a leverage of empowerment, and as a tool to eradicate social inequalities. Upon returning to campus, Alli developed the 2015 Slingshot Conference, a one-day conference that engaged and propelled students in learning about career opportunities in the social sector and at socially-responsible organizations.

Having been impacted by the Center for Community Engaged Learning on SNHU’s campus, Alli decided to pursue her Master’s of Education in Higher Education from Merrimack College [2017], in the hopes of working with and empowering students through transformative service-based experiences.

As an Associate Manager of Recruitment, Alli is ecstatic to become a part of CfSI team, and to have the opportunity to collaborate with organizations in the social sector, colleges, and universities, in addition to meeting and working with passionate students who are eager to participate in Semester in the City!
