ILA SHAH

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Ila has over 15 years of professional experience with a focus on education and talent acquisition. She cares deeply about providing educational access and opportunity to young people. After completing the CORO fellowship in Public Affairs, Ila was a program specialist in New York City at The After-School Corporation (TASC). In this capacity, Ila implemented and evaluated over 100 after-school programs across the five boroughs of New York City. Working in partnership with a variety of philanthropic partners, she implemented and managed programs across specialized program areas including dramatic arts and sports and fitness.

Ila continued her career in education space as the Director of the National Network at Citizen Schools. During her time at Citizen Schools, she worked to launch five new state offices. She played a key role in establishing partnerships with school district officials as well as community and philanthropic partners. She was also responsible for hiring, training and advising regional executive staff. While at Citizen Schools, Ila built the foundation for key communication systems and operational policies for the national network.  

More recently, Ila was a Search Consultant at Commongood Careers and Edgility Consulting. Ila led over 40 searches and successfully hired key executive positions for a variety of non-profit organizations across the US in areas including education, healthcare, and philanthropy. In her consultancy roles, Ila was responsible for managing client relationships and conducting organizational needs assessments while also devising and implementing candidate recruitment and hiring strategies. Ila received a Bachelors of Arts from Wesleyan University.

Ila is thrilled to join CfSI and looks forward to collaborating with the entire team around building a dynamic and joyous community while also developing systems for both scalable and sustainable growth.
