Mercedes Hanton is the Program Manager of Student Experiences where she plays an essential role in delivering a high quality program experience to undergraduate Social Innovation Fellows. Mercedes has been in the nonprofit sector for over 10 years and has held a range of positions. She is a first-generation college graduate and is so excited to connect with young professionals in their learning journey.

Mercedes went to The College of New Jersey and majored in Communications and minored in Deaf studies. After graduation she moved to Boston and did two years with City Year Boston where she worked with a social justice program for high school students and lead training for the corps.

After completing her service years, Mercedes went on to studying school counseling at Northeastern University and acted a school counselor for several years. Most recently, she worked at uAspire both as a College Affordability Advisor and on the talent team.
