Adrianna Arnett

Adrianna is a senior Psychology major with a Social Justice minor. She’s from a small town in Kentucky, but has felt lucky to call many places home (including Boston)! She was a Semester in the City Fellow in Spring 2026 as a Special Events Fellow at Boston Partners in Education.
On campus, Adrianna is part of the ADPHI sorority and New Horizons scholar group; she also works at the registrar’s office. She loves a good salad at the salad bar in Cowan. She enjoys being creative, sticking close to pencil and charcoal drawing with the occasional painting.
Q: How did you find out about SITC & why did you decide to participate in it?
A: “I found out about SITC through Centre's showcase of the study away and abroad opportunities. I had always known I wanted to study away or abroad during my junior spring and as I was learning about the options I learned how expensive it really is and had almost given up the idea that I would be able to afford any of them, this is until the final presenter spoke. She was a representative for SITC who gave me hope that I could actually get to go. After speaking with her I knew this was the program for me.”
Q: What are you passionate about?
A: “Education and social justice has always held a special place in my heart and mind. This led to me perusing a School Case Worker career, at least for the time being. I am excited to see how my passions change and evolve but, education and the strive for justice is something that I will always carry with me.”
Q: What motivates you?
A: “What motivates me is that funny feeling you get when you realized you've changed the course of someone's day or mood. That smile you see on a strangers face after giving them a compliment or making a friend laugh after crying is a feeling I hold dear and chase everyday.”
Q: Can you tell us about a memorable moment from your internship?
A: “I have so many memorable experiences at my internship I could almost talk to much about them but, one of my favorites to mention is the inclusion I immediately felt. At staff meetings a staff member will bring snacks and at the first one I attended where I met most of the staff I was immediately recognized as apart of the organization and the food was labeled for my allergies like I had been there a thousand times.”
Q: What do you wish you knew before participating in Semester in the City?
A: “In my experience the best piece of advice I have is to just do it. Click the submit application button. Yes, it is daunting. Yes, it is scary. Yes, it is a whole new experience you may not have experienced before. I felt this way and almost missed this experience because of it. I promise the amazing staff is there to help you learn and do these things despite these feelings. You might just change your life in the process.”
