Semester Programs
Semester in the City and Semester for Impact are fully-credited fellowship programs that give undergraduate students the opportunity to spend a semester learning hands-on through well-supported internships in the social sector.
Participating students join us as Social Impact Fellows and take part in a transformative 15-week program that immerses them in addressing current social issues while developing essential skills and networks to prepare them for life and work after graduation.
As a Semester in the City or Semester for Impact Fellow, you will intern with a nonprofit, social mission business, or government agency for 30 hours per week for a full-semester. You’ll gain work-based experience, allowing you to learn more about yourself and your passions while also building skills and networks.
We work to place you in an internship aligned with your interests, be it criminal justice reform, education, gender equality, environmental sustainability, or beyond. While every placement will be a little different, you will have a dedicated mentor to help you thrive.
“Deciding to come to Boston for SITC is a decision that I am truly proud of. This program allowed me to build on critical skills, grow my network, and understand how I can make an impact as a young professional. I am grateful for the hands-on learning opportunities that I experienced but also the continued support from CFSI, even as an alumni.”
