Q: How did you find out about SITC & why did you decide to participate in it?

A: “I found out about SITC at a study abroad fair my fall semester sophomore year. I really wanted to spend a semester off campus and meet new people but I wasn't sure if I would be able to go abroad. When I discovered this program, where I could live and work in Boston, I knew it would be the perfect solution for what I was looking for.”

Q: What are you passionate about?

A: “I am passionate about working with adolescents and storytelling through film, photography, and writing.”

Q: What motivates you?

A: “I am motivated whenever my work has a purpose. Whether it is using filmmaking to spread awareness, helping a student work through a personal roadblock, or photographing a special moment in someone's life, I feel the best about myself and my work when I know it is important to someone else.”

Q: Can you tell us about a memorable moment from your internship?

A: “A memorable experience at my internship was photographing the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. I had the opportunity to talk to alumni and trustees from Cathedral High School and I was able to witness the impact that this school has on its students. Hearing alumni come back decades after graduation and still call their high school their home really showed me how strong the Cathedral community is and how much that community means to its students.”

Q: What do you wish you knew before participating in Semester in the City?

A: “Even if you are nervous, go out of your comfort zone and apply. The support you will receive in this program is unmatched, and you will gain incredible friends, mentors, and experiences. You are more likely to regret the things you don't do than the actions that you take!”
