Requirements:
Knox requires all approved applicants to be in good academic standing. Applicants with a GPA below a 3.0 can strengthen their application essay by providing a paragraph describing how their academic performance demonstrates appropriate preparation for the demands of off-campus study. It is still possible to be approved for off-campus study!
Please refer to Knox’s Off Campus Study FAQ page for detailed information on Knox’s internal application process
Internal Application:
Available through the internal Knox student portal. Students can email Tim Foster to request more information.
Credit:
4.5 total
Knox will provide four and a half (4.5) credits to students who satisfactorily complete the CFSI program. Knox College agrees to provide students who participate in the CFSI program and satisfactorily complete their assignments with a full semester of credit (4.5) toward graduation. Where possible, a portion of these credits will count toward a student's major or minor, but the portion of the 4.5 academic credits, if any, which count toward a student's major or minor is at the discretion of Knox College, its faculty, and department leadership.
Financial Aid:
As part of Knox’s internal application, students must meet with a Knox Financial Aid advisor and complete the Cost Estimate Worksheet & Financial Declaration of Good Standing at Knox form. Like all Knox-approved semester programs, students should expect to pay more than a typical trimester (3 credits) for the program up front, but will pay less for subsequent credits to complete the year.
