Student Ambassador at Colby College


Princess is a junior Computer Science & Science, Technology and Society (STS) double major, minoring in Education. She was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and also lived in Bangladesh for five years as a child. She was a Semester in the City Fellow in Spring 2025 as a Special Operations Intern at Æthos.

On campus, she’s a member of the Colby Muslim Student Association, South Asian Student Association, QuestBridge, Women of Color and Colby Dancers. She’s a big fan of the desserts at Dana, like tiramisu and blueberry cheesecake. This year, she hopes to read more books.

Q: How did you find out about SITC & why did you decide to join?

A: “I found out about SITC through a senior at Colby and I decided to participate in the program to gain internship experience while also getting to experience Boston.”

Q: What are you passionate about?

A: “I am passionate about persistence, even when resources may not be directly presented to you, going to find them yourself. I say this but I hope to be the person that can present these opportunities to younger people in the future.”

Q: What are some of your interests?

A: “Dancing Kathak (south Asian style dance), wrestling, journaling (have been writing since I was 5), calisthenics (I love push ups), dressing up.”

Q: What motivates you?

A: “Being able to open my eyes every morning and having the ability to move my body out of bed.”

Q: What advice do you have for incoming fellows?

A: “Venture out of the program as well. Explore different places, have solo dates, meet other people in different schools. Do not limit yourself.”

Q: If you could visit a fictional world and be immersed in it, where would you go?

A: “I would love to go to Barbie’s world due to the amount of luxuries and words that are available such as Fairytopia, Swan Lake, Princess Charm School, etc.”
