Equitable Service Expansion VISTA

Sarah Butchko serves as an AmeriCorps VISTA member on the College for Social Innovation’s Recruitment & Marketing team. Passionate about creating equitable and accessible spaces in higher education, she is excited to support CFSI's mission in connecting more students to meaningful, high-impact learning experiences.

Sarah graduated from Davidson College with a B.A. in Educational Studies and a focus in Arts and Cultural Policy. While at Davidson, she spent time abroad researching the educational system in Northern Ireland and teaching English in Vienna, Austria. Through her work with the College Crisis Initiative (C2i), she gained valuable experience in higher education research, data collection, and analysis. Sarah has presented her research at conferences for the Association for Education Finance and Policy (AEFP) and the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES).

Most recently, Sarah interned at the American Dance Festival in Durham, North Carolina, and is eager to immerse herself in the dance community of Boston. Outside of work, she enjoys bouldering, hiking, and trying her hand at any arts & crafts project. Originally from Maryland and having spent the past four years in North Carolina, Sarah is excited to begin this new chapter in Boston.
