Requirements:

  • Students may apply to participate in their sophomore, junior, or senior year.

  • Students may apply during their first year, as long as they have completed at least 30 credits prior to participation, with at least 15 of these credits earned at UMassDartmouth at the baccalaureate level.

  • Minimum GPA requirement: 2.5

  • Students must have a declared major

  • Criteria to be considered "in good standing" at UMass Dartmouth 

Student account paid in full & satisfactory student conduct history, as provided to the Career Center by the Office of Student Conduct and Dispute Resolution.

Internal Application:

Students must complete required academic and financial forms, including obtaining department chair signatures, to ensure transfer of academic credit and financial aid.

Students should contact Lisa Gavigan in the Career Center to coordinate completing these forms. 

Credit: 

16 total 

  • Students earn transfer credit through the University of New Hampshire as a full-time enrolled student, which is 16 credits (Enrolled in INCO 505A,  INCO 505B, & INCO 505I).

  • As part of the required Study Away Form EXH 035 (linked above), students must work with advisors to determine which credits will count towards major, minor, distribution, or general elective requirements.

Financial Aid: 

  • UMass Dartmouth’s billing and financial aid policy is detailed in the Study Away Consortium Agreement, which is one of the required forms linked above. 

  • Students must complete the Transferrable Funds Information Sheet (Section 5) to apply their financial aid award towards Semester in the City. It is strongly recommended that students authorize UMass to use their financial aid award to pay CFSI (the provider of Semester in the City) directly.
